Lauren Millier

Lauren Millier is a Principal with Hickey Global Canada, supporting business development and project management services for the Canadian public sector.

Before joining Hickey Global Canada, Lauren was co-founder of MDB Insight, (formerly Millier Dickinson Blais),which, after 15 years of providing high-quality consulting, was acquired by Deloitte’s Economic Advisory practice in 2022.

This followed a career in municipal land use policy planning and economic development advisory services in both the public and private sectors.

Lauren has successfully led a multitude of economic development related projects for large urban communities across Canada including Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Mississauga and Ottawa. Lauren has built an extensive professional network across Canada and is well-respected for the quality of work she provides.

Lauren has also worked extensively in Alberta and the Calgary Region having completed Calgary’s first economic development strategy in 2008 and a subsequent update in 2014. She worked with CED in the completion of Alberta’s Health Industry Assessment and in the creation of an economic development strategy for the Calgary Regional Partnership.

Lauren is a member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) retired, and the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) retired.

Lauren has her Bachelor of Environmental Science degree from the University of Waterloo and is currently working on her Master of Public Administration (Management) with Dalhousie University.

Camila Concha

Camila Concha is an economic development consultant at Hickey Global Canada. Originally from Colombia, she holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Cardiff University and a Master's degree in Economic Development and Innovation from the University of Waterloo.

Camila has previously held positions in Canada as an Economic Development Officer and Workforce Research and Data Coordinator. In these roles, she has led initiatives to strengthen community economic development strategies, improve workforce integration, and create actionable plans for business and investment attraction.

Prior to her municipal and workforce development experience, Camila worked as a consultant on Rural Economic Development, Place Branding Strategies, and Green Innovation projects.

With a strong foundation in community economic development and workforce research, Camila is dedicated to providing Hickey Global Canada clients with comprehensive analysis and strategic insights into a wide range of economic challenges and opportunities.
